Why “Shiva-Vashi”?

The name of this site comes from a beautiful linguistic insight revealed by Adi Shankaracharya in the Shivapada Manimala Stotram — when you reverse the two syllables of “Shi-Va”, they become “Va-Shi” (వశి) — meaning one who has everything under control.

I named this personal site after that idea — a small reminder, every time I open it, that the two syllables are enough.

The insight is from a discourse by Padma Shri Dr. Garikapati Narasimha Rao on Shankaracharya’s Shivapada Manimala Stotram, delivered in Sadashivpet, Telangana.
